  Contemporary Art is important in Filipino lives because every contemporary art reflects someone's feelings,ideas,or perspectives.Through contemporary art ,Filipino's can express themselves in a way that will be safely observable for others.It is a means of personal expression. The National Living Treasures Award, alternatively known as the Gawad sa Manlilikha sa Bayan is conferred to a person or group of artist recognized by the Government of the Philippines for their contributions to the country's intangible cultural heritage. GAMABA stands for Gawad ng malilikha ng bayan, the very purpose of this award is to give honor and pride to those traditional folk artist and and to preserve their works, skills and crafts. Filipino artist play a role in presenting and educating the public about history and identify. And anything traditional can become contemporary by reinterpreting its function,use, pragmatism,or even ethics and morality.
